Still Shoveling

animal abuse case. Venta is also our Director of Volunteer Services

Venta's husband Rick is not actually asleep in this picture; he's cuddling
up with Lily, an absolutely wonderful White (Umbrella) Cockatoo who came
to BaaHaus, along with two ducks, in
July 2002.

Venta
Venta Silins and Rick Van Hoose are volunteers-extraordinaire. They come
all the way from north of Seattle every Saturday to shovel and feed, feed
and shovel.

Venta would spend the entire Saturday with the pigs, if there weren't a heap of other work. She has spent extra time
with Fred and Rickie, two of the most

damaged pigs from a very serious
Rick
Rick claims that his greatest expertise is shoveling donkey poo. He has recently expanded his skill-set to include llama manure. He likes to say that he is "growing with the job."
Rick and Venta were featured in the Fall 2002 "Volunteer Spotlight"
