Meet the Llamas

Baahaus currently has four llamas: Rose, Grace, Roberta and Caper. Rose and Caper came to BaaHaus so that their owner could provide a permanent home for a dozen or more severally neglected llamas confiscated by the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office.

Roberta and Grace are from the south end of Vashon Island and came to BaaHaus when their owners were planning to retire and do more traveling. Both llamas had survived a terrifying attack by dogs (Roberta nearly died and still carries huge scars from this incident), so the owners were reluctant to leave the llamas with just a part-time caregiver. And rightly so; free ranging dogs constitute the biggest danger to pasture animals on Vashon.

Sheep, goats and even llamas are occasionally killed by dogs whose owners irresponsibly endanger everyone's farm animals as well as the lives of their own dogs.
