Peter Lake, Jr. is a handsome, tiny rooster who comes from (we think) a feral chicken colony located behind a restaurant in Vashon (well, don't think about that part too much). Apparently, Peter was run out of the colony by bigger, more aggressive roosters, but Pete Jr. is quite resourceful and took up residence at the Peter R. Lake CPA offices, the very same good folks who do accounting work for BaaHaus. This arrangement worked for awhile, but when tax season heated up, the accountants found it hard to concentrate with Pete Jr. peeking in the windows trying to get glimpses of clients' tax records, crowing at all hours, inviting rowdy friends over, etc. He was also spending a little too much time in the intersection---not a very safe place to hang out.

BaaHaus tried on numerous occasions to catch Peter Lake, Jr. and finally succeeded on the night of Feb. 2, 2004. He was relocated to one of our rooster coops but took it upon himself to move in with Nancy the not-very-wild Turkey. They make a handsome if somewhat unusual pair. We'll try to get a picture of these two birds together for the next website revision.
