Queen Maude is from the Des Moines area and is one of the very few chickens we've ever heard of who has survived an eagle attack. She was picked up by a bald eagle but, eight or so feet up in the air, was able to squirm free.
Her human caretaker witnessed this event and ran out to rescue her. Deciding that Maude really was not safe, she gave us a call. Maude now lives in the completely enclosed aviary area with a variety of other poultry. Her "special" friend is Trevor, the banty rooster (not pictured on the website, but he is very handsome).
