"Richard Burton" is the answer to "Who Am I" on the BaaHaus home page. Richard, or "RB" as his friends call him, is a wonderful Muscovy duck (these guys look like a cross between a goose and a turkey and some people call them Gurkeys). He was found begging at the intersection in Burton. Kindly store owners, including Sandy of the Burton Store (also featured on our home page) decided that RB was TOO tame to be allowed to just sit by the road. He could easily be killed by dogs or a passing vehicle. We think that Richard may have been a pet who either flew away and couldn't find his way back home, or was abandoned at the end of the summer (he was found begging for scraps during the last few days of August, and brought to BaaHaus on September 1, 2003). Judging from his craving for baked goods, we're guessing he lived with a good cook.
