The goose community has increased
by number and variety of the last year with the addition of two very beautiful
Chinese Swan Geese, Jackie and Charlie.For some reason known only to her,
Dolly (formerly known as Chuck) much prefers the company of the Swan Geese,
instead of her "own kind" Betty White and Troy. This is just
one example of the need to let the animals have some say in living arrangements.
We learn a lot through observing the behavior of all the animals at BaaHaus;
when we really listen to what the animals know is best, everyone is happier!
When Sally's companion was killed on the beach by a dog, she fell into a sea of despond. Out of loneliness, she tried to join the Camp Fire Girls at Vashon's Camp Sealth and would waddle across the stage, disrupting sing-alongs and skit productions. She was losing weight and wasting away. The camp director called BaaHaus and now Sally has a passel of goosy friends with whom she shares good food, loud conversations and mad dashes across the pasture.
